Additional cubicle shed added to local Dairy Farm
Apr 2, 2019
A new cubicle shed was recently completed for an expanding dairy farm in Dumfries and Galloway. The galvanised steel framed building was completed to contain a new cubicle layout, shuttered tank and also a narrow pre-formed slurry channel, both extend from the existing slurry system.
The steel frame is enclosed using CWP concrete panels and Yorkshire boarding. Fibre cement and roof lights were used for the roofing, the ridge was set to be open protected to add extra ventilation. One side and one end of the building were utilised for feed space with a single rail feed fence being installed with a 0.6m CWP concrete panel below.
The combined CWP and FarmFit concrete feeder system was selected below a cantilever to protect feeding. The premium cow cubicles were fitted by our experienced team with the addition of a cranked head rail for comfort.
6 Gang slats were used on the flooring over the shuttered tank. A large tipping water trough was chosen for easy cleaning.
