Newton Rigg, Sheep Husbandry Centre
Type of Building
Sheep Husbandry Centre
Value of Project
The project will include full demolition of the existing building and preparation of the site, full concrete works and erecting the building which is a steel portal framed building with Yorkshire board cladding and a fibre cement roof.
The works will also include general improvements to the farmstead including access, new hard standing and improvements to the silage clamp to allow it to be turned into a lambing centre.
Robinsons will also be providing all of the internals for the building.
Fit for the purpose of teaching all year round and that would allow the college to focus teaching on the college’s lambing operations, a base for sheep shearing and for general sheep husbandry. The aim was to be as cost effective as possible but to exceed the client’s expectations on quality and function.
